A complete guide to all traps in Sons Of The Forest
Building up a base is an integral part of the gameplay in Sons Of The Forest and is also one of the most enjoyable parts of the game. Unfortunately, the island is also swarming with pesky cannibals and terrifying mutants waiting to smash your lovingly built cabin and desecrate your inner sanctum; how rude! If you want to keep your safe space safe, there are various traps you can employ for many situations.
This guide covers all Sons Of The Forest Traps and advises on how to craft and best use them.
Flyswatter Trap

- Effective Against: Cannibals, Heavy Cannibals, Cannibal Giants
- Role: Defensive
- Effect: Death and Dismemberment
- Area of Effect: Small
- Affects Players: No
- Required Components: 10 Sticks, 2 Rocks, 1 Rope

Bonemaker Trap

- Effective Against: Cannibals
- Role: Ambush, Defensive
- Effect: Burning
- Area of Effect: Small-Medium
- Affects Players: Yes
- Required Components: 2 Sticks, 3 Rocks, 1 Rope, 3 Leaves, 1 Vodka Bottle
This clever snare snatches up the first standard-sized cannibal that triggers it and holds them aloft while shattering a Molotov at their feet. Fish Trap

- Effective Against: Fish

- Effect: Capture
- Area of Effect: N/A
- Affects Players: No
- Required Components: 25 Sticks

What’s mine is mine
The cannibals of the island don’t seem too keen on sharing the land with newcomers, so you’ll have to carve out your own slice of paradise and protect it with everything you’ve got.
Fortunately, Endnight Games included many clever traps in Sons Of The Forest to help us guard our newfound home and keep our drying racks stocked with fresh meat.
