Looking to locate the Stun Gun in Sons Of The Forest?
The Sons Of The Forest Stun Gun is a unique ranged weapon found in Sons Of The Forest that fires a pair of electrified barbs at a target, delivering a powerful electrical charge to an enemy, causing them to seize up and fall to the ground.
While not nearly as deadly as the Pistol or Revolver, the Stun Gun excels at putting targets out of commission and setting the player up for finishing blows. As dangerous as close-quarters combat is in Sons Of The Forest, its ability to stop an enemy in their tracks can save your skin.
How to get the Stun Gun in Sons Of The Forest

Players can find the Stun Gun at the Shoreline Cave on the island’s north-western side.
The entrance to the cave is located at the southern edge of one of the beaches on the island’s western side. It’s the same cave network that the Rebreather is found in.
Once inside the Shoreline Cave, the Stun Gun can be looted near the end of the cave, hanging from a stalactite made of mucus along the cavern’s ceiling.
Nearby, you can also find a Leather Jacket and a radio trapped similarly. When the main cave system splits, take the smaller passage away from the river. If you are moving toward the sound of a radio, you are going the right way.
What type of ammo does it use?

The Stun Gun expends one round of ammo each time it is fired and must be reloaded before firing again. To load a new round into the gun, press the reload button (default R
key.)
Ammo for this weapon is rare and found only in gun cases near campsites, points of interest, and military corpses. It cannot be crafted.
Tips and tricks for using the Stun Gun

While it is a ranged weapon, the Stun Gun has a very limited effective range. For this reason, it is best used to escape dangerous situations or just before entering melee combat when targets are close.
Striking a target in the head with it will not deal additional damage or stun the target for longer, so it is usually best to aim for the center of mass to ensure you don’t miss.
It is significantly more effective against human targets than mutants. A cannibal hit by it will fall to the ground and remain stunned for around 15-20 seconds. Mutants hit by it (except for the humanoid Pale Mutants) will only remain stunned for around 5 seconds and typically remain on their feet (if they have any.)
The Stun Gun’s ability to knock targets to the ground makes it excellent for quickly finishing off dangerous targets like cannibal giants. In tight quarters, a stunned enemy can prevent the enemies behind it from advancing, giving you time to retreat or reload.
