Looking to locate the Guitar in Sons Of The Forest?
We won’t lie to you; the Guitar in Sons Of The Forest makes for a poor weapon. However, we also cannot lie about how fun it is to bash an enemy over the head with a Guitar.
Designed more for laying out sick riffs than laying out enemies, the Guitar is big, unwieldy, and doesn’t hit nearly as hard as one would hope.
How to find the Guitar in Sons Of The Forest

The Guitar can be found inside the Entertainment Bunker, lying on the bar at the entrance to the nightclub. A bug sometimes prevents the Guitar from spawning the first time the area loads. To fix this, leave the bunker through the secondary entrance at the end and then return. Enemies will not respawn inside, but the Guitar should now be present on the counter.
The entrance to the bunker is very close to both the Crash Site Cave and the default helicopter crash site. Look for a small creek next to an overgrown golf cart; the entrance will be through a cave nearby. This entryway is well hidden by underbrush but is marked as a point of interest on the map. The door to the bunker’s interior is locked and requires the Guest Keycard or Maintenance Keycard to open it.
Tips and tricks for using the Guitar

We don’t recommend wielding the Guitar in any serious combat engagements. It attacks slowly and deals very little damage, effectively combining the weaknesses of the Firefighter Axe and the Machete while offering neither of their strengths.
If you choose to use the Guitar in combat, try to isolate opponents to avoid being surrounded. Keep a close eye on your stamina meter, as this weapon will require a decent amount for each swing. Start your swing before you reach your target, and don’t withdraw until it connects.

The Guitar also cannot be used to block or parry, meaning this item can only be used offensively. However, it is possible to play the Guitar by holding down the block button (default RMB
.) This function has no intrinsic value but is perfect for providing some background music or passing time around the campfire.
How to equip the Guitar

Once you have acquired the Guitar, you can equip it by:
- Opening your inventory
- Panning the mouse to the far left of the crafting mat
- Selecting the Guitar by left-clicking on it
- The inventory will close, and you will have it in hand
How to add the Guitar to the quick select bag

Alternatively, if you’ve added the Guitar to your backpack, you can access it through the quick-select bag. Briefly hold down the inventory key to pull out the quick-select bag.
This is much faster than panning the inventory screen whenever you want to switch weapons. If you have the Guitar on your quick-select bag, you can find it in short or long weapon slots.
The Guitar is considered a long weapon but can also be added to the short weapon slot. The long and short weapon slots on the left side of the backpack hold weapons such as the Chainsaw, Modern Axe, Katana, Crossbow, and more.
To add the Guitar to the quick-select bag:
- Open the inventory screen
- Add the backpack to the crafting mat by right-clicking on it
- If there is an item in both the long and short weapon slots, right-click on one to remove it
- Right-click on the Guitar to add it to the quick-select bag
How to assign the Guitar to a hotkey
If you want to switch weapons faster and have the Guitar in hand with a single keystroke, you can assign it to a hotkey by:
- Open the inventory
- Mouse over the Guitar to the far left of the crafting mat
- With your mouse over the weapon, press one of the ten available hotkeys (1-0) to assign it to that key
- Now when you press the assigned key, the Guitar will automatically be equipped to your hands

Final thoughts on the Guitar
While a very poor choice for a weapon, the Guitar can be a fun diversion if you enjoy smacking enemies with expensive equipment or smashing your instrument at the end of a solo. Additionally, we thank Endnight Games for including the ability to play the Guitar, as it makes this instrument much more fun than a simple gag weapon.
