Sons Of The Forest: How to Get and Use the Firefighter Axe

Looking to locate the Firefighter Axe in Sons Of The Forest?

The Sons Of The Forest Firefighter Axe is a slow but devastating melee weapon and an incredibly useful tool. Capable of splitting heads as easily as it splits logs, it is one of the most powerful weapons in the game in terms of raw damage and blocking power.

This axe is equipped with a sturdy rubberized handle and a reinforced pick on the back of the blade. It was designed for breaking through doors and other obstacles to either escape from a fire or for use by rescue crews to reach trapped civilians. But once it is in your hands, nobody will be escaping.

How to get the Firefighter Axe in Sons Of The Forest

To get the Firefighter Axe, you must first acquire the Shovel. Once you have acquired it, you can navigate to the Maintenance Tunnel A entrance, represented as a green circle marker on your GPS Tracker, located northwest of the mountain.

Two golf carts will be surrounded by surveying equipment at the base of a short cliff. Equip your Shovel and move in front of the golf carts until the Shovel icon appears above the ground. There will be a patch of dirt to dig up as the hatch is buried.

Inside this short tunnel and near the back, you will find an open emergency case mounted to the wall, between the shelves and generators, containing the Firefighter Axe. A horde of angry baby mutants protects it, so be ready for a fight.

Tips and tricks for using the Firefighter Axe

The Firefighter Axe remains a viable weapon throughout the entire game. Its attacks are quite slow but extremely powerful. Most unarmored enemies will fall to it in one or two blows.

The high block value of this weapon makes it ideal for head-on combat. It’s also a great weapon to use in a defensive posture while crawling through caves with a team behind you. With that in mind, don’t swing wildly with this weapon, as each strike will cost you a hefty chunk of stamina and require a moment to recover from.

The Firefighter Axe also excels at dismembering enemies in combat. Try aiming for a target’s arms, legs, or neck. Decapitating an enemy will kill them instantly, while cutting off arms or legs can prevent pursuit or further attacks. Performing a successful parry with this axe can also stun the attacker for several seconds. Note that this only applies to cannibals.

Players can use this axe can be used to adjust the length of logs or split them into planks or firewood. Aim the axe at a log or plank and look for a dotted red line to indicate how you will be splitting it. You can also use the axe to sharpen logs into defensive walls or sticks into damaging stakes.
