Endnight Games announced Friday that their anticipated sequel Sons Of The Forest, would be released as an Early Access title on February 23, 2023.
Previously set to release in 2022, Endnight Games pushed back the release date of Sons Of The Forest multiple times as they tried to gauge when their development would conclude and the game would be ready.
The decision to release Sons Of The Forest as an Early Access title makes a lot of sense. Endnight has stated that they believe that the success of The Forest was due greatly to the outpouring of support and quality feedback from their community.
It’s great to see players and fans have the opportunity to contribute to the second chapter by playing in the early release of Sons Of The Forest and providing feedback that will shape the remaining development.
Survival titles like RUST, The Forest, and The Planet Crafter have seen great success from their Early Access releases. Community feedback enabled these titles to adjust and refine features before their releases, resulting in better gameplay balance and more positive reception by the player base.
