The Watch Tower is a standalone deployable structure in RUST, seen on display in locations like the Bandit Camp and any of the assorted quarries. The player-crafted Watch Tower may be placed anywhere not restricted by monument privilege or covered by a foundation. They are available to be learned by all players via the tier 1 workbench.
Like most wood items and structures within the game, Watch Towers are susceptible to fire-based attacks making them less than ideal structures to live out of. Players can place boxes or sleeping bags in the tower directly, but unless a Tool Cupboard is nearby, they are as prone to decay as if placed on the ground.
Watch Towers can be looted from a small assortment of low-tier loot crates and dropped from NPC scientists around the map. They require a considerable Scrap investment to learn via the tier 1 workbench and are often avoided where possible.
They do not add upkeep costs to bases that use them and will remain in place without decay so long as they are under the effect radius of a tool cupboard.
