Tripod Spot Light
Overview
The Tripod Spot Light is a deployable illumination item in RUST, added with the September 2025 update as part of the Exhibit Decor Pack. It is the first free-standing, directional spotlight that can be aimed and adjusted similarly to CCTV cameras, giving players control over targeted lighting inside and outside their bases.
Unlike standard lamps and ceiling lights, the Tripod Spot Light is deployed as a floor-standing entity on any flat, player-built surface. Once placed, players can angle the light in any direction using the camera-toggle system with a Hammer, making it highly versatile for lighting large spaces, staging areas, or defensive positions.
It consumes 5 units of power and includes passthrough capability, allowing it to be integrated seamlessly into electrical networks.
How to Acquire the Tripod Spot Light
- DLC Requirement: Only available to players who own the Exhibit Decor Pack.
- Research Cost: Cannot be researched.
- Crafting Requirements: 50 Metal Fragments
- Workbench Level: Requires a Workbench Level 1
- Blueprint Availability: Not available as a blueprint.
To Craft the Tripod Spot Light:
- Your Steam account must have the Exhibit Decor Pack enabled.
- Ensure you have 50 Metal Fragments in inventory
- Stand near a Workbench Level 1 or greater
- Press the Tab button in-game to open the crafting menu
- Type “Tripod Spot Light” in the search bar
- Click on its icon, then click the “Craft” button
