Switch

The RUST Switch is a deployable electrical entity used to allow gated electrical pass through via a simple on/off function. Facepunch added electricity components in the Electric Anniversary update on the 7th of December, 2018.

Players may deploy switches on most wall surfaces. When using a Wiring Tool to check for ports, players will find a single Electric Input, Switch On, Switch Off, and Output.  As the name implies, switches operate the same way as a traditional home light switch.

They require 1 power to function themselves, and then when toggled to On, they allow all remaining power to flow to the next link in the chain.  When off, they prevent power passthrough. They are widely regarded as one of the most useful electrical components and a must-have for more complicated defensive systems.

Switches may be found in an assortment of low-to-mid-tier crates, as well as drops from a wide range of scientists. Players may also research them directly or invest scrap into the Tier 1 Workbench tech tree.
