Survival Fish Trap

The Survival Fish Trap, is a player-deployable food-gathering trap in RUST and is a default blueprint. It doesn’t require a workbench to make.

This trap is an alternative method of gathering food that requires the player to place bait in the trap and wait instead of hunting or gathering.

Once crafted, the player places the trap in an adequate depth river, lake, or ocean, places some type of food inside to bait fish, and comes back later to check what has been caught. Due to the nature of the fish trap and its ability to be placed over foundations so long as they are in deep enough water, players sometimes create indoor fish farms. Players may deploy them either in the wild or in buildings where they have proper Tool Cupboard authorization.

Players without authorization may steal from and loot fish traps. Survival fish traps gradually break down and decay over time and from use.
