Sunflower Seed

RUST Sunflower Seeds are used to grow Sunflower Plants, which players can harvest the clones from, along with a Sunflower item currently used for decoration or fishing. Sunflower Plants are found across the map in temperate biomes or player-made farms.

Facepunch made notable improvements to the seed system, clones, and farmable berries in the Mixing Table Update on August 6, 2020, with the most recent addition in March 2025.

Sunflower Seeds are created through the picking of a natural Sunflower Plant. They are identical to Sunflower Clones in every way (except for their lack of genetics) and can be grown in the ground, in Large Planter Boxes, or in Small Planter Boxes. Better genetics result in better yield, which will provide more Sunflowers when harvested.
