Stone Pickaxe
The Stone Pickaxe is a default blueprint available to every player from the moment of spawning and is used to gather ore and stone in RUST. It requires no fuel to operate but takes consistent durability loss while being used to hit nodes or any other entity.
Unlike Jackhammers, the stone pickaxe will require players to strike stone and ore nodes manually each time to gather resources.
Stone pickaxes may be found in boxes and mine carts around caves but aren’t obtainable by any other method besides crafting.
Using a pickaxe as a melee weapon is normal, especially in early-game play, sometimes going so far as to use it as a soft-side raiding tool. Due to its limited resource-gathering capacity, we don’t recommend using stone pickaxes as a harvesting tool with active ore-gathering teas.
