Spoiled Fish Meat
RUST Spoiled Fish Meat is an edible item found in RUST, located in and spawnable from the F1 console under Food. Facepunch added the spoilage concept to RUST with the March 2025 update as the direct result of not refrigerating food in a powered Fridge, both raw and cooked meat.
Spoilage will take place after the following periods of time;
- You have a 24-hour window for cooked meat to insert the cooked product into the powered Fridge.
- You have a 6-hour window to insert raw meat into a powered Fridge.
While placed within the Fridge, the spoilage timer (visible in the same window as the item description) will pause. There isn’t currently a way to reset the timer, and it will continue its downward tick towards spoilage as soon as it is removed from cooling. Once the timer reaches zero, all meat types convert from their cooked/raw status to that of Spoiled.
When consumed, the Spoiled Fish Meat restores 10 calories and two hydration, but it induces vomiting and hurts the player considerably, adding +10 poison as an invisible status ailment.
