Small Water Catcher
The Small Water Catcher is a standalone construction deployable in RUST, used to passively catch drinkable water over time. They are craftable only after learning the blueprint. Before the Farming Update, they were explicitly used by base owners with no reliable fresh water source to drink from.
From a structural perspective, they’re considerably less of an eyesore and significantly easier to place than the Large Water Catcher. The small water catcher occupies less than a standard square foundation-sized area and may be placed on the tops of buildings. Since the only way to move them is to destroy them, players often must wait until all building is complete before slapping them down.
Like the large version, small water catchers have a water input and a water output connection that can be made via the Hose Tool.
Small water catchers can be found in lower-tier crates and dropped by various scientists. Players may learn it directly via the research table or by investing a small amount of Scrap into the tier 1 workbench tech tree.
