Sheet Metal Door
The Sheet Metal Door is a default blueprint and is commonly crafted in starter bases due to its relatively inexpensive cost to craft.
With 250 hit points, the door will take 1 Timed Explosive Charge or 63 Explosive 5.56 Rifle Ammo to break down. It’s not as strong as its Armored counterpart, but for most people, the sheet metal door is the go-to option for starter and main bases since it is stronger and more durable than the wooden door.
While the sheet metal door doesn’t have a hatch similar to the armored door, there are several skins available that allow players to see in and out, such as the Factory Door. For most, having at least two sheet metal doors up (also known as an airlock) is the bare minimum requirement for base door security.
The sheet metal door occupies a standard doorway opening, unlike the larger Sheet Metal Double Door of similar name and durability. While the door itself can take quite a beating, it is important to note that the door is only as strong as the frame that it is placed on and only defensive if paired with a Key Lock or Code Lock. Should you put it on a twig frame and that frame is destroyed, so too is the door.
The sheet metal door is arguably one of the most re-skinned items in the game.
