Research Table

The Research Table is a crafting station in RUST and is available to players as a default blueprint. The only purpose of the research table is to convert an item and scrap into a blueprint. See our RUST research table guide for more information.

The table looks like a typical drafting table with a swingarm monocle attached. If you look through the magnifying glass and rotate around the table, you can see the magnified image below moving as you move, giving a satisfying effect to the glass.

Using this crafting station is quite simple–insert the item you wish to research and the required amount of scrap, then press the ‘begin research’ button. While the table is researching, you will hear pencil-scratching sounds as if your player is eagerly sketching the schematic of the item, followed by a chipper ‘zing!’ once the research is complete. The item and scrap will be consumed, an the item blueprint will appear in the ‘Item to research’ slot. Be sure to loot and memorize this blueprint ASAP. Leaving this blueprint in the repair table could potentially arm an opponent with a valuable blueprint.

Like the repair bench and mixing table, there is room below the table for additional storage containers.  1 Large Wood Box will fit beneath the table, despite the fact it looks like it wouldn’t fit.
