Repair Bench

The Repair Bench is a multi-purpose item in RUST and is available to players as a default blueprint straight from the beach. The two primary uses of the repair bench are to repair items and to reskin them.

The bench looks as you’d expect a workbench to look, with a vice grip on the front for holding objects still and a toolbox on the work surface for repairing the seized object. Interacting with the bench will bring up the inventory UI. From here, you can insert an item.

  • If the item has one or more skins associated with your account, the UI will open a “skins” segment displaying all possible skins to apply. Clicking on any skin will immediately reskin the item.
  • If the item needs repairing, the UI will display the types of resources needed to repair and their amounts.

Repair benches are commonly brought along on raids to repair weapons in the field when using Explosive 5.56 Rifle Ammo to destroy doors or structures.

There is room enough for 2 Wood Storage Boxes on the shelf beneath the tabletop of the bench, as well as a deployable space for things like Lanterns on top, making the repair bench a highly compact deployable for tight base layouts. Ensure you remove any deployable on the topside of the bench before picking it up with a Hammer, or the item will break and leave its contents in a bag on the ground.
