PTZ CCTV Camera
The PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) CCTV Camera, spawnable via the F1 console under electrical components, is a ceiling-mounted remote monitoring tool added to RUST during the Eye In The Sky Update in March of 2023.
Basic PTZ CCTV Camera function
The PTZ cam utilizes the authorization premise of Tool Cupboards to determine whether a player may alter connections or configurations to this device within the confines of the building privilege. Players with sufficient building privilege may place one of these cameras on the bottom of any ceiling structure they desire, including slanted roof entities. 5 electrical input power must be run to the device via Wire Tool to make it operational.
Hold the E key down while looking at the camera to give it a customizable name used to access its video feed. Once done, a Computer Station may be used to enter this camera name (case sensitive), allowing for its remote video feed to be monitored. Unpowered cameras CANNOT be added to the computer station’s listing.
Check out our RUST CCTV camera codes list for more detailed information on how to set up and use CCTV cameras and a complete and updated list of CCTV camera codes. If you want to make access to that CCTV camera public, you can simply tell other players the name of the channel, and they will be able to watch from their terminals once they plugin the name.
Unlike the standard CCTV Camera, the PTZ version can show full 360 coverage of an area and has the same zooming functionality as the Binoculars, albeit considerably lessened zooming distance. Zoom can be achieved by pressing the Right Mouse click up to 3 times. On the fourth click, the zoom will return to default.
How to get a PTZ CCTV Camera
The PTZ cam is craftable via the Work Bench Level 2 and costs 500 scrap to research directly (730 via tech tree). These devices are found in higher-tier crates similar to other tier-2 electrical components.
