Prison Cell Gate

The RUST Prison Cell Gate is a full doorway covering that can be affixed over a double door frame opening to allow players to see in and out of it while offering a built-in door with slightly higher defensive specifications than a Sheet Metal Double Door.

Like other doors in RUST, players can lock it and pick it up if unlocked with a Hammer. While it is nowhere near as strong as the Metal Shop Front, that provides a similar blocking capacity and doesn’t impede bullets almost at all, making it a minimally effective griefing tool. There is also a static variety of this item without the door function called Prison Cell Wall.

Auto Turret bays are the most prominent in-game utility of either prison cell item. Most players will use these barricade types to safeguard their auto turrets from being shot out with bows or speared out. The downside of this method is flame retention caused by the cell itself. When impacted by Incendiary Rockets or other flame types, the fire passes through and is contained within the cell, which causes the turret to die considerably faster than if the flames were free to spread and jump away naturally. Many don’t know this tradeoff to consider when doing a base design.

Players may find Prison Cell Gates in various mid-to-high-tier loot crates and drops from several scientist types. Players may also obtain them through crafting. They add upkeep costs to bases that use them and will remain in place without decay as long as they are under the effect of a Tool Cupboard.
