The Metal Window Bars are a metal prison-style bar system that affixes over a window frame opening to allow RUST players to see or shoot in and out while prohibiting anyone from using it as an access point. They are available to be researched by all players as a tier 1 blueprint.
It may be picked up with a Hammer at the cost of half of its default durability.
The Metal Window Bars’ primary utility is limiting access to window frames from non-TC-authed players. The Metal Window Bars aren’t a typical choice for base defense but are considerably preferable over the easier to craft Wooden Window Bars.
Metal Window Bars are found in an assortment of low-to-mid-tier crates and dropped from NPC scientists. This adds upkeep costs to bases that use them and will remain in place without decay as long as they are affected by a Tool Cupboard.
