Large Water Catcher

The RUST Large Water Catcher is a deployable construction item in RUST used to collect drinkable water from the air. It can be connected to other entities to provide water at a rate of 20ml a second.

The Large Water Catcher is craftable only after learning its blueprint. Before the Farming Update, they were explicitly used by base owners with no reliable fresh water source to drink from.

From a structural perspective, they’re quite a bit of an eyesore and difficult to place properly. They occupy a large space and often must be placed on very flat spots. Since the only way to move them is to destroy them, players often must wait until all building is complete before slapping them down nearby. Unlike the more friendly Small Water Catcher, the large variation cannot be placed on player-made foundations.

Like the small version, Large Water Catchers have a water input and a water output connection that can be made via the Hose Tool.

Large water catchers can be found in higher-tier crates and dropped from various NPC scientists. Players may learn it directly via the research table or by investing a large amount of Scrap into the tier 2 workbench tech tree.
