Knights Armour Cuirass
The Knights Armour Cuirass is a mid-tier form of upper torso body protection, an exact statistical duplicate of the common Road Sign Jacket, usually acting as the precursor to the Metal Chest Plate with regard to game progression. It was added to the RUST Item Store as part of the Medieval Pack DLC in February 2025 as part of the Primitive Update.
The Knights Armour Cuirass operates like the Hide Poncho and Wood Chestplate, providing additional protection overtop of underlying clothing. As mentioned above, it is only surpassed in projectile defensive stats by the Metal Chest Plate armor piece, though it is considerably cheaper to craft and far more disposable.
While requiring the DLC to craft, the non-skinned variant Road Sign Jacket has a reasonably high drop rate from several sources, especially supply drops. It is also a mainstay in military crates and may be crafted at a Research Table or using the tier 2 tech tree.
The chief complaint of all-metal gear within RUST, including the coffee can set, is its susceptibility to cold, especially during the night cycle or while wet.
