Jukebox
The Jukebox is a deployable electrical implement that allows players to stream music in RUST. Facepunch added electricity components in the Electric Anniversary update on the 7th of December, 2018, with many items like this coming with the Voice Props DLC patch in July of 2021. This particular version is a skin of the original Boom Box item, but functions exactly the same way, with the only noticeable differences being aesthetic and overall size.
Added as part of the August 2026 Update DLC, only players with the applicable Bar Games DLC may craft this item.
Glowing effects really bring the retro vibe to life when this skin is properly powered. The top dome glows with a soft blend of blue and orange, similar to neon filtered through frosted glass. That glow spills downward, catching the metallic trim and giving the whole machine a gentle radiance. It looks like it has been mistreated for most of its life but underwent a digital readout refit.
Players may deploy the Jukebox on most surfaces and use a Wiring Tool to connect to its Audio Out, Power, and Toggle Play ports. They require ten power (not including attachments) to run and are usually paired with other devices from the same DLC, chiefly the Connected Speaker.
The functionality is quite simple, with a scroll-wheel menu used to display various interaction options. From here, players may open and insert a Cassette with pre-recorded audio, then play it on repeat, or adjust the Radio Settings to tune in to their favorite station. The original intention was to allow players to program their favorite internet radio stations. Still, it was later adjusted to a static menu of streamable content for players.
There is a Portable Boom Box variety that operates in much the same way but cannot be connected to other electrical devices. Decay is incurred for the duration of playtime.
Only players who have purchased the mentioned DLC may craft these devices, but anyone may use or deploy them. Players must have access to a Work Bench Tier 1 to craft them.
