High Caliber Revolver

The High Caliber Revolver (HCR) is RUST’s most potent, high-impact six-shooter handgun. Its high-range, low fire rate makes it incredibly valuable for mid to late-game engagements. It provides a blend of unique gunplay experience, greatly resembling the Python Revolver, but with considerable modifications that set it apart. It’s important to note that, unlike the Python Revolver, which has a similar appearance, the High Caliber Revolver uses 5.56 ammo, not pistol bullets.

Because of its ability to use 5.56 ammo, the HCR is the newest addition to the Explosive Ammo raid family. Before breaking, the HCR can fire 134 rounds at any raidable target (assuming the gun is not damaged). This translates to the HCR being capable of shooting down just over two full health Sheet Metal Doors.

Like all weapons in RUST, the High Caliber Revolver has a few disadvantages to using it, such as:

1. Slow to reload
2. Tiny magazine-size
3. Significant recoil

That said, it also has some considerable advantages, such as:

1. High damage dealing
2. High range accuracy
3. Uses 5.56 ammo types
4. Crafted at Tier 2 Workbenches

Considering these advantages and the fact that the High Caliber Revolver hits harder than the Assault Rifle (AK), it’s sure to become a favorite among players who are more confident in their firing capacity.

For perspective:

• An AK from point-blank range against a naked player to the chest deals precisely 50 damage and applicable bleeding. 
• The HCR against the same player with the same circumstances deals 65 damage and bleeding. 

The increased damage-dealing capability catapults the HCR into uncharted territory for a weapon of its type, especially for requiring a lower-tier workbench to craft.

The High Caliber Revolver can be crafted at a Tier 2 Workbench, requiring a significant investment to research and make. RUST players can also find and loot this weapon from elite and high-tier green military and locked crates.

The High Caliber Revolver can use the following bullet types:

2. Explosive 5.56 Rifle Ammo
3. Incendiary 5.56 Rifle Ammo
4. HV 5.56 Rifle Ammo

While their fire rate is low, the considerable damage they deal, combined with the pinpoint accuracy that a turret provides, makes them an excellent choice for use in Auto Turrets.
