Fragmentation Mortar Shell

The Fragmentation Mortar Shell is one of two ammunition types compatible with the Mortar and is the primary area of effect damage ammunition type for that weapon. This ammunition type was added to RUST in the May 2026 Update.

Fragmentation Mortar Shell ammunition is known for its capacity to eliminate multiple enemy players at once, causing significant area of effect damage anywhere it lands. Think of it as an High Velocity Rocket blast, but from a stationary, grounded launcher. As such, it has higher-than-average damage outputs against vehicles, both aerial and ground.
