The Fish Trophy is a deployable display item in RUST, used to showcase and display fish that players have caught, traded for, or purchased on their base walls for the world to see.
How to get a Fish Trophy
The Fish Trophy is a DLC-exclusive blueprint that is available only to those who purchase the Base Decor Pack: Frontier from the RUST Item Store. It will appear in your crafting list after purchasing it.
- It doesn’t appear on the tech tree and cannot be researched
- It doesn’t drop from crates or NPCs as loot
- It does not require a workbench to craft
How to use Fish Trophies
Players may deploy the Fish Trophy on wall structures in buildings with building privileges.
As a byproduct of this open storage racking method, locks may not be placed to safeguard your displayed fish. Still, building privilege should disable non-authed players from removing the item otherwise.
Hovering over a displayed Fish Trophy and pressing the E key when “Open” appears will result in a small loot container box on the screen. Players may drag their desired fish to the open slot, which will immediately display. Stacks of fish will not be inserted, as only one fish may be present within the trophy.
While a fish is displayed within said Trophy, anyone may approach it to have a “Use” icon appear. Pressing the E key will result in the fish entering an 8-second animation window, wherein it flaps its tail and sings the following lines:
I’m just a fish
I can’t raid your base
So why did you put
That hook in my face?RUST Trophy Fish
During the animation period, the fish may not be removed.
If the Fish Trophy is destroyed, any fish that is inside of it will flop lifelessly to the floor below and be available for anyone within range to loot.
