Engineering Workbench
The Engineering Workbench (IO WB) in RUST is a deployable item for crafting items that most would consider secondary to the endgame of RUST, being those that serve a system or purpose other than raiding or combat. The applicable systems it is designed to facilitate include Electrical, Irrigation, Industrial, and Automotive.
By default, in Vanilla RUST, there are no public IO WBs currently in the game. They are not a default blueprint and may be learned via the Workbench Level 1 and crafted while in front of it. Placement of this workbench type requires either Building Privilege where it exists or a simple flat or foundational surface where none exists. They may be placed, picked up, destroyed, or have items placed upon them as any other table-type item could.
This workbench was presumably created with two main purposes:
- To potentially declutter the primary workbench types in the future, as the Tech Tree system is getting steadily more congested as the game progresses
- To offer a cheaper alternative for IO component creation for players with more interest in PVE-centric base features than PVP-focused destruction.
The engineering workbench is extremely “Subject to Change” as it is a new addition to a core system.
