Egg

The Egg is a basic food item found in RUST. You can loot it from both food crates and ration boxes by following around wild chickens until they ‘drop’ one or through the Chicken Husbandry System.

An Egg provides a moderate amount of calories, hydration, and a small amount of health. In addition to providing direct use, Eggs are also a reagent in the Rust Cooking System, currently required in 6 recipes.

Eggs, when directly consumed, provide 40 calories and 15 hydration, as well as 2 healing over time. This puts them towards the higher end of stat payouts overtime for a single item, and as such, are also a fairly good choice of food to feed to your horse so that it begins to produce Horse Dung which can be used as a passive scrap-making method, when used in a Composter to produce a small amount of Fertilizer. Players then either use this for farming or sell it directly to Bandit Camp.
