Double Diving Tank
Overview
The Double Diving Tank is a specialized chest-slot wearable in RUST that dramatically extends underwater breathing time. It is part of the broader diving equipment system originally introduced with the Compound Update (May 2018), but the double-tank variant itself was added later with the Naval Update in February 2026.
Unlike armor pieces, the Double Diving Tank provides no defensive protection. Its sole purpose is underwater endurance, making it a utility-focused item intended for ocean exploration, underwater monuments, and prolonged submersion scenarios.
How to Acquire the Double Diving Tank
The Double Diving Tank is not craftable and must be obtained through progression content tied to the Naval Update:
- Missions: Developer commits indicate the double-tank variant is awarded through the new Naval Labs mission chain.
- Crafting: Cannot be crafted with components.
- Loot Sources: Does not appear in standard crate or barrel loot tables.
- Research: Cannot be learned or crafted via Research Tables.
- Purchase: Cannot be bought from NPC vendors or player shops.
Usage & Functionality
The Double Diving Tank can replace the standard Diving Tank and significantly increases underwater breathing duration.
