Chinese Lantern White

The Chinese White Lantern is a light source item in RUST meant for celebrating the Lunar New Year 2024, the year of the Dragon. This ornate Lantern is the white version of the original Chinese Lantern, complete with golden tassels and black calligraphy writing. Players can acquire the white version of the paper lantern by purchasing the original lantern from RUST’s limited-time item store. After purchasing this item, you’ll be able to craft the original orange version and the white version.

While decorative, Chinese lanterns are suitable precursors to a more advanced electrical lighting system. Players can hang them from the ceiling, unlike the Lantern, which makes them extra versatile options for base interior lighting.

Unlike both the original Chinese Lantern and base lantern, the Chinese White Lantern emits a soft white, non-flickering glow when turned on. They are by far less likely to shine through walls like the much brighter Camp Fire but don’t offer a heat source. They require Low-Grade Fuel to function.
