Camp Fire
The Camp Fire is the central survival too in RUST. In the early game of a RUST wipe, the campfire fills several functions in a starter base.
First and foremost, a camp fire provides players with light and warmth. Depending on which biome you are building in, warmth might be the difference between life and death.
The snowy biomes and the desert biomes will kill players who don’t build Stone Fireplaces within their early base. The risk of hypothermia doubles if players are wet.
Fortunately, standing close enough to the fire will dry the player and their clothing. Standing too close might set you on fire, though.
Secondly, you can use the camp fire’s inventory space for cooking food or beginning producing Metal Fragments by melting Empty Tuna Cans and Empty Can of Beans.
The camp fire will also emit a bright yellow light from floor height, making it adequate lighting before players get access to Tuna Can Lamps or electric Ceiling Lights.
While the camp fire will consume one piece of Wood every 10 seconds and produce Charcoal, there are far better components for deliberately making charcoal.
The camp fire can also provide up to 50 points of comfort, which will allow players with good hunger and hydration to regenerate health.
Additionally, players can utilize this effect as door camper detection, as having other players nearby will push you beyond the 50 comforts of the camp fire.
Place the campfire in your airlock and turn it on to see if other players are lurking outside your door.
