The RUST electrical component, Button, is a quality of life component that allows players to have greater aesthetic control over their circuits and wiring projects.
Pressing the button causes a quick charge to travel from the button to trigger the next component in line.
Many electrical components, such as the Switch or Timer, can perform the same role as the button.
However, unlike the other components, the button does not need power feeding into it to send out a quick charge.
The charge is so small that there is no way to exploit the button for this power. However, it does save you some effort in setting up basic switches but can impact your circuits when using logic gates that determine when they do and don’t have power.
Most importantly, the red button is aesthetically pleasing and much easier for players to understand. The big red button makes the thing go.
Keep in mind that the button has low health, so avoid placing a button somewhere other players can reach it, primarily if it controls any security-related electronics.
