Bulb String Lights

Overview

The Bulb String Lights are a decorative deployable lighting item in RUST, introduced with the September 2025 update as part of the Exhibit Decor Pack. Similar to the Fairy Lights, these strands provide soft illumination with a mixed-bulb design, making them ideal for creative and roleplay-focused base decoration.

Bulb String Lights deploy as a chain of alternating bulb shapes, some round and pointy, giving them a unique, eclectic appearance compared to the uniform Fairy Lights. They emit a soft, warm glow, providing more aesthetic value than practical brightness.

These lights can be placed in sections as short as 1 foot, with chains extendable up to 150 feet in length per strand. Like other DLC lighting items, they support electrical passthrough, making them easy to daisy-chain for larger setups.

How to Acquire Bulb String Lights

• DLC Requirement: Only available to users who purchase the Exhibit Decor Pack from the Steam Store.
• Research Cost: Cannot be researched.
• Blueprint Availability: Cannot be blueprinted.
• Crafting Requirements: 50 Metal Fragments
• Workbench Level: Requires a Workbench Level 1 or greater to craft.

To Craft the Bulb String Lights:

1. Your Steam account must have the Exhibit Decor Pack enabled.
2. Ensure you have 50 Metal Fragments in your inventory
3. Stand near a Workbench Level 1 or greater
4. Press the Tab button in-game to open the crafting menu
5. Type “Bulb String Lights” in the search bar
6. Click on its icon, then click the “Craft” button

Using the Bulb String Lights

  • Deployable in 1-foot minimum segments.
  • Extendable up to 150 feet per strand.
  • Placeable on walls, ceilings, and foundations for flexible decoration.
