Bee Catapult Bomb
The Bee Catapult Bomb is a very annoying and quite persistent combat tool in RUST. It was introduced during the June 2025 update.
Modeled after the Flashbang, the Bee Catapult Bomb is a bunch of Bee Grenades that have the same basic user functionality with a much different after effect. Unlike the other catapult-style ammunition types, this one unfortunately can’t be deployed on the ground and remotely detonated, so it is very useless without siege equipment.
Once launched, this item sends a swarm of angry pollinators at the point of impact. At the moment, instead of a singular swarm like the grenade, it deploys three mega swarms. Swarms endure for quite a long time, or until the person haunted by it is doused with water, equips a Hazmat Suit, or uses fire to temporarily scare them off (they do come back from fire). They do very minor but very persistent damage over time and will follow a player for a long time.
Players can use a flamethrower-type weapon to destroy the swarm directly. Unfortunately, if you live in a wooden shack, your options are limited. They are also currently dispersed by Smoke Grenades.
Presently, vending machines at the Outpost and vendors at the Bandit Camp monuments do not sell bee items, but players can use Tier 2 Workbenches to craft them.
