Bamboo Barrel
The Bamboo Barrel is a craftable and deployable storage container with 48 slots in RUST, primarily used to hold resources, components, and other items. Role-players will likely appreciate the rustic, woven bamboo appearance that can spruce up their base and add an extra touch of jungle ambiance. It possesses the exact placement, orientation, and size markers as the Storage Barrel Vertical item.
This item will likely be dubbed “Pay to Win,” as it allows you to place more of them in a space similar to that of a Large Wood Box, providing you with more overall storage. Bamboo Barrels do have the drawback, however, of being unable to be locked like standard containers.
How to Get a Bamboo Barrel
The Bamboo Barrel is a DLC-exclusive blueprint available only to those purchasing the Jungle DLC from the RUST Item Store. It will appear on your crafting list after buying it.
- It doesn’t appear on the tech tree
- It doesn’t drop from crates or NPCs as loot
- It does not require a workbench to craft
How to Use a Bamboo Barrel
The Bamboo Barrel functions similarly to any other container in RUST regarding placement. After obtaining the item, add it to your hotbar and select it to activate it. The blue or red pre-placement indicators will appear, showing you when the item can or cannot be placed.
If arranged properly, players can cleanly fit six of these barrels onto a single foundation, with six additional barrels added above them using the half-wall floor technique. The two rear containers, however, will not be accessible if all walls are placed; consider using a Garage Door.
For those wishing to stack these barrels, they can be placed on either player-crafted floor shelving or Salvaged Shelves. This method contrasts with the default Large Wood Boxes, which can only fit four on a single foundation when perfectly placed.
Lastly, it’s important to note that they cannot be locked with either a Code Lock or Key Lock, giving them a significant disadvantage.
Industrial Interface
Similar to the Large Wood Box, up to 4 Storage Adapters can be equipped simultaneously for use with the Industrial System in each Bamboo Barrel.
