Abyss Vertical Storage Tank
The Abyss Vertical Storage Tank is a DLC-only storage receptacle in RUST added to the game with the July 2025 update, presumably as a retroactive part of the original Abyss DLC. It is only obtainable by someone who has the Abyss DLC activated and crafts it in-game.
The primary function of this item is to act as a base storage implement, only to a more fashionable degree. This item will most likely be deemed “Pay to Win”, given that you can place more of them in a space similar to that of a large wooden box, providing you with more overall storage.
How to get an Abyss Vertical Storage Tank
The Abyss Vertical Storage Tank is currently a DLC-exclusive blueprint, available only to players who have purchased the Abyss DLC.
- This item does not appear on the tech tree.
- This item does not currently drop from any known crates or NPCs.
- It does not currently require a workbench to craft.
Industrial Interface
Each Abyss Vertical Storage Tank can have up to four Storage Adapters added at a time for use with the Industrial Piping System, similar to the Large Wood Box.
How to use an Abyss Vertical Storage Tank
Functionally, they are 48-slot receptacles of a unique size and shape to their item type, used as the primary storage item for almost every base you will ‘covertly visit.’ They are NOT currently lockable with either a Code Lock or Key Lock. Players may cleanly fit up to six of these boxes if arranged perfectly onto a single foundation, provided there is no obstruction overhead. This is in contrast to the default large wood box, which can only fit four.
For those wishing to stack these barrels, they are placeable on both player-crafted floor-shelving or Salvaged Shelves.
