RUST Green Keycard Locations (2021)

RUST Green Keycard Locations

This RUST new player guide video is brought to you by our partner xRaw.

With the World Revamp released on 5/6/2021, RUST has introduced a complete overhaul to its graphic system with the all-new HDRP assets. The High Definition Render Pipeline of Unity (HDRP) has not only transformed the visual look of RUST but has forced multiple monuments to receive an overhaul.

Through these overhauls, some of the green keycard locations have either been removed, modified, or new locations introduced to the game altogether. In this video guide, xRaw details exactly where all of the Green Keycard locations can be found in RUST.

Here’s a quick list of green keycard locations:

INTRO:

Hey guys, and welcome to the first episode of my Rust Tips & Tricks series. This ongoing series is designed to guide players through rust. If you have any suggestions for videos to add to the series, please feel free to let me know in the comments. For the first episode of the series, we will be looking at all of the Green Keycard locations in Rust as Thursday 6th May 2021.

WHAT ARE KEYCARDS:
Keycards can be found on desks in many locations across the map and are used along with fuses to gain access to restricted loot rooms holding various loot. The keycard will lose a small amount of durability with each use, even if the door is already open. The keycards respawn roughly every 30 minutes; however, this can vary depending on the number of players on the server.

THE GREEN KEYCARD:
Green keycards have the lowest level of clearance and are used to access the green doors inside monuments. You will need to complete the monument puzzle before swiping the card, and I will follow up with a guide on each monument puzzle soon. The green card can be sold at the Bandit Camp for 15 scrap, which can be useful for extra scrap if you have many spare.

OXUMS GAS MART:
The first location you can find green cards is Oxums Gas Mart which is a small monument and can be found labeled on the map. Depending on the map size of the server you are on, there may be more than one.

If approaching from the front of the monument, you want to enter the front door and go through the door to the right to find the desk.

If approaching from the back, you want to enter the door on the left and take the door to your right to find the desk.

SUPERMARKET:
Next up is the Supermarket, which is also a small monument that can be found labeled on the map. Again here, there may be more than one.

If you are entering from the front of the monument, you want to go through the door on the left to find the desk.

If you are entering from the back where the recycler is, you want to go through the door on the right side of the building here.

LIGHTHOUSE:
The third location to obtain green cards is the “Lighthouse,” which is another monument and can be found labeled on the map.

The keycard can be accessed by following the stairs around the lighthouse and entering the first door on the right; once you are here, you enter the first room to your right.

JUNKYARD:
Then we have the Junkyard, which is another monument that you can find labeled on the map. This monument has had some heavy changes in the 6th May 2021 update.

If you are near the scrap satellite, head over to the stop sign to the right and follow this path up to the recycler – once here, follow the path behind the recycler till you reach this building where you will find the keycard.

If you enter Junkyard from this side, you want to head over to the stop sign on the right and climb this pathway until you reach the building where the green card is.

ABANDONED CABINS:
The fifth location is the “Abandoned Cabins,” which is also labeled on the map and is a small monument.

If you are approaching the building with the danger sign on it, you want to enter the door on the right side of the building, and the keycard can be found here.

If you enter from the side with the metal shop front, you want to follow the path around the side of the building and across the swamp to the taller building with 2 floors. Enter the door to the right and climb the ladder to find the desk.

POWER PLANT:
The next location is the “Power Plant,” which is a larger monument and can be found labeled on the map. The green keycard here is locked behind a green puzzle, requiring 1 fuse and a green card.

Firstly you need to head to this building located in one corner of the monument, head up the stairs here and flip the switch. Next, run over to this small building in the opposite corner and flip the switch before activating the timer; make sure everything is green before moving onto the next step. Finally, run over to the large building in the center of the monument and swipe your green card, enter the door and turn right to find the desk.

SMALL OIL RIG:
The seventh location to obtain green cards is the “Oil Rig,” which is a large monument and can be found labeled on the map. The green keycard here is locked behind a blue puzzle, requiring 1 fuse and a blue card. This monument is flooded with Scientists, so you will need to kill these as you go.

To get to the keycard on this monument, you will need to make your way to the top deck and add a fuse to the fusebox in the corner of the platform before swiping your blue card on the door under the landing pad.

LARGE OIL RIG:
Next up, we have the Large Oil Rig, which is a large monument and can be found labeled on the map. The green keycard here is locked behind a green door requiring a green card already. This monument is flooded with Scientists, so you will need to kill these as you go.

To get to the keycard here, you will need to make your way to the third deck of the rig and follow around the outside until you reach the green door; simply swipe your green card and enter the door.

SCIENTISTS:
Green cards can also be obtained as loot from killing scientists.

Roaming scientists, which can be found roaming on the roads or near scrap piles, and Cargo Scientists, which can be found on the Cargo Ship event, have a 24% chance to drop a green card.

Military Tunnel Scientists who can be found in the military tunnels have a 36% chance to drop a green card.
