RUST Blue Keycard Locations (2021)

RUST Blue Keycard Locations

This RUST new player guide video is brought to you by our partner xRaw.

In continuation with his RUST keycard location series, xRaw walks us through each of the blue keycard locations in RUST.

With the World Revamp Update, many if not most of the monuments in RUST have been overhauled, due to the HDRP changes that were introduced. This has potentially changed the locations of Blue Keycard locations, due to them either being removed, modified, or new card locations added to the game.

In this video guide, xRaw will show us where all of the blue keycard locations are and exactly how to obtain them, providing map locations and more.

Here’s a quick list of blue keycard locations:

  • Small Harbor Monument
  • Large Harbor Monument
  • Satellite Dish Monument
  • Sewer Branch Monument
  • Outpost Monument

With that, you’re here to watch his video!

INTRO:
Hey guys, and welcome to the second episode of my Rust Tips & Tricks series. This ongoing series is designed to guide players through rust. If you have any suggestions for videos to add to the series, please feel free to let me know in the comments. For the second episode of the series, we will be looking at all of the Blue Keycard locations in Rust as Thursday 6th May 2021.

WHAT ARE KEYCARDS:
Keycards can be found on desks in many locations across the map and are used along with fuses to gain access to restricted loot rooms holding various loot. The keycard will lose a small amount of durability with each use, even if the door is already open. The keycards respawn roughly every 30 minutes; however, this can vary depending on the number of players on the server.

THE BLUE KEYCARD:
Blue keycards have a medium level of clearance and are used to access the blue doors inside monuments. You will need to complete the monument puzzle before swiping the card, and I will follow up with a guide on each monument puzzle soon. The blue card can be sold at the Bandit Camp for 40 scrap, which can be useful for extra scrap if you have any spare.

HARBOUR 1 (SMALL):
The first location to obtain blue cards is “Harbor 1,” which is a monument and can be found labeled on the map. Many people call this the “small harbor.” The blue keycard here is locked behind a green puzzle, requiring 1 fuse and a green card. The small harbor has the train station at one end, while the large harbor is bigger, and therefore the train station fits into the corner as shown on the map.

Approaching the harbor from the opposite side to the sea, you want to head over to this building – shown from above here. Once at the building, enter the ground floor level and add a fuse to the fuse box before flipping the switch. Finally, make your way upstairs and swipe your green card on the door to find the blue card on the desk.

HARBOUR 2 (LARGE):
Next up is “Harbor 2,” which is a monument and can be found labeled on the map. Many people call this the “large harbor.” The blue keycard here is locked behind a green puzzle, requiring 1 fuse and a green card. The small harbor has the train station at one end, while the large harbor is bigger, and therefore, the train station fits into the corner as shown on the map.

Approaching the harbor from the opposite side to the sea, you need to run towards the end of the hanger by the water. When you are around halfway there, you should see the railway tracks which run through the monument; follow these until you see this small container. Once you reach the container, walk inside and add a fuse to the fuse box before flipping the switch on the outside here. Finally, continue running to the far end of the hanger where you will find the green door, swipe your card and take your blue card.

SATELLITE DISH:
The third location to obtain blue cards is “Satellite Dish,” which is a monument and can be found labeled on the map. The blue key card here is locked behind a green puzzle, requiring 1 fuse and a green card. This monument has had some heavy changes in the 6th May 2021 update.

You want to head to the side of the Satellite Dishes with a ramp leading towards the center. Instead of climbing the ramp, you want to head down to the left and towards the container here. Enter the door and add a fuse before heading back outside and flipping the switch on the rear side here. Finally, follow the pipe through here, taking a left at the only junction until you arrive at a second container, swipe your card on the door, and take the blue card.

SEWER BRANCH:
The next location is the “Sewer Branch,” which is a monument and can be found labeled on the map. This monument has had some changes in the 6th May 2021 update.
You want to enter the monument from the side with the stop sign and crashed vehicle. You want to enter over the broken fence and go towards the recycler. Enter the door next to the recycler and add a fuse to the fuse box and flip the switch. Next, you want to go back to where you entered the monument and jump down the hole to the left, follow the path until you reach the green door, and swipe your card. Once inside, take a right and then run to the end before turning left into this room where you can find the blue card on a desk in the center.

Alternatively, once adding your fuse and flipping the switch, you can run behind the building and follow the terrain down to the bottom of this tower, where you will find another hole. Jump in and follow the path until you reach a different green door and swipe your card. Once inside, follow the path until you reach this room and climb the stairs here to find the desk with the card on.

OUTPOST:
If you don’t have any luck obtaining blue cards from any of these locations, you can always buy one from the Outpost for 100 scrap. The Outpost is a safe area with many shops and recyclers and can be found labeled on the map. Head over to the Outpost and travel over to this area with two elevated shops; open the shop on the right and click buy.
