Resident Evil’s latest upcoming titles
One of the biggest survival horror franchises in video games isn’t going anywhere. After the Resident Evil Showcase, fans of the genre and the series have much to look forward to. After this week, the only question fans have for the monolithic developer is, what game will you remake next?
Resident Evil 4
While we know it’s been in the works for a while now, we finally have a full-length trailer for Resident Evil 4. And it looks glorious. Not only do we have expansive trailers, but we also have gameplay footage of the first 5 mins, as well as exclusive info on the title, its DLC, and the many changes between the original and the remake.
Resident Evil 4 will feature an updated shop, new cutscenes, different gameplay mechanics, smarter enemy AI, and plenty of outfits for Leon to accessorize.
While we don’t know if Ada Wong’s story will be included with the original or not, and the same goes for the Mercenaries mode, we do know the base game has been expanded in several areas.
Along with the trailer for the Resident Evil 4 remake came info on the collector’s edition of the game, complete with an actual map and Leon figurine.
Resident Evil Village Gold + DLC
Not to beat the Resident Evil 4 drum too hard, the Showcase also featured the upcoming release of Shadows of Rose, the DLC for Resident Evil: Village. It contains a much-expanded Mercenaries mode with several new playable characters, a third-person mode for the game’s original campaign, and the real ending to the Winters’ storyline.

Resident Evil Re: Verse
When Resident Evil: Village was released, all purchasers got a copy of Resident Evil Re: Verse. It’s an unplayable copy, so fans were stuck wondering what the heck it was. But after the Resident Evil Showcase, they won’t have to wait much longer. When the Shadows of Rose DLC drops on Oct. 28th, Re: Verse is planned to go live.
Unlike Resident Evil Resistance, another free game included with the Resident Evil 3 remake, a playable free game, Re: Verse, has been ridiculed in the Resident Evil community. Considering it’s just been staring at us with dead eyes whenever we log onto Steam, we think the negativity might be justified. But we are glad to see Capcom finally doing something about it.
With the Resident Evil Showcase, fans now know what to expect for the franchise’s future. While some are already calling for the next project to be a remake of Code: Veronica or the original Resident Evil, they’ll have to settle with these titles for now.
