CorrosionHour.com (“Corrosion Hour”) is a resource website built and run by a community of gamers and fans of the popular survival game RUST Experimental, developed by Facepunch Studios, LTD. Corrosion Hour is in no way affiliated or endorsed by Facepunch Studios, LTD.
Our primary mission is to provide fellow gamers with useful resources, such as in-depth articles, for the RUST Experimental gaming community at large. In addition to the Corrosion Hour website, we also run multiple high-performance game servers that are available to all.

What Personal Data We Collect & Why We Collect It
User & Visitor Comments
When Users and visitors of the site leave comments, we collect the data from the fields submitted in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website. This can be used in identifying and tracking you.
When visitors use contact forms found on the Corrosion Hour website, we collect and store all of the data provided in the form’s fields and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
Cookies and Web Beacons
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Corrosion Hour makes use of log files. These files log information about the visitors accessing the site – a standard procedure for hosting companies and a part of hosting services’ analytics. The information inside the log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date/time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. This information is used to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement around the site, and gather demographic information. IP addresses and other such information are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable.

How Long We Retain Your Data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
